How does the program work?
If you qualify, weatherization service providers will make energy-efficiency updates to your home free of charge. State action agencies (see below) administer the program under the direction of the U.S. Department of Energy.
Trained crews and contractors will provide an energy audit and education, plus install permanent cost-effective measures, including*:
- Air leak reduction
- Furnace repair/replacement (non-emergency)
*Other weatherizing services may also be available.
